A man who had undergone a mastectomies surgery is suing a Michigan physician for not treating him with proper medical attention, a lawsuit filed Friday by the American Civil Liberties Union.
The lawsuit says Dr. David C. Wirth of Mount Sinai Medical Center in Flint is a practicing physician who has no medical licenses.
Wirth’s lawsuit accuses the doctor of denying him the right to recover from a botched surgery, arguing that the surgeon had “deliberately inflicted a severe injury on him without due regard to his medical condition.”
The lawsuit alleges that Wirth suffered a stroke and was treated for it in a hospital, where he was placed in isolation for more than two weeks.
Withers lawsuit states that during that time he was unable to work, attend school, and even travel to his son’s funeral.
The suit says that Wither’s son was in an accident that killed Wirth’s wife and son, and that he and his son had a separation.
Withers son has suffered a number of medical complications, including a rare genetic disorder, multiple surgeries and infections.
